Course Details:
Jewellery Designing: Introduction, Media research, Elements & Principles of Design, Colours & Textures, Elements & applications of technical drawings, Drawing front & side views of rings, bracelets, pendants & necklace, drawing stone cuts, colouring metals, studded jewellery. Computer Aided desiging ,using precious CAD-learning the basic functions, moving from 3D modeling to jewellery designing Project Work Portfolio.
 
Gemmology:

Basic qualities of a gem, methods employed in mining of gems; Physical properties, Optical properties & optical effects in gem stores. Theory of gem cutting techniques, crystallography & applications in Gemmology, Instruments in gem identification techniques, limitations & precautions, Synthetic composites, imitation gemstones & plastics, treatment of gemstone, Systematic Identification of gemstone groups, individual stones & their stimulants.

 
Diamond Grading & Identification:
Uniqueness of diamond among gems, Theory of journey of diamond from the mines to cutter. Theory of cutting & polishing process, Study of round brilliant cut, basics of polished diamonds, grading using international standards, history of cuts, 4 Cs: Grading for colour, clarity, cut and carat, identification of diamond & diamond stimulants.
 
Jewellery Manufacturing:
Properties of metals, Alloys, terminologies in manufacturing, utility & limitations of important tools; Cutting & blending pattern & texture fusing & soldering, cold joint, finishing, patinas, stone settings, mechanism & chains.
