Ms. Maria Chumak – Fashion and Lifestyle Designer

Ms. Maria Chumak is now a mentor at Vogue Institute of Art & Design. A fashion designer from France, Maria graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. She has over 17 years of profound experience in the field of fashion design, drawing and illustration. She has worked for multiple design projects, teaching art and design, supervising concept development projects in art and design colleges. From collection planning to preparing technical drawings for the fashion industry, supervising production houses to organizing fashion shows, photoshoots and art exhibitions, she has done it all. In her previous capacity, she has worked as an illustrator for clients like CNN style, Vogue, Elle, Men’s Health, WGSN, Orange UK, Cacharel (couture) Auchan and Moneygram France.

From a young age being the daughter of an archaeologist, she lived in different parts of the world. Long stays in Russia, USA, Ukraine, Europe, the Middle East and now in Asia inspired her to create a series of works in various mediums: painting – drawing, fashion illustration, book illustration, textile, conceptual fashion, and many travel books.

For almost seven years, Maria has lived and worked in the South of India. She has completed her Ph.D. research on ‘Iconography of the Women in Eastern Artforms’. She is an illustrator represented by Spinning Yarn Reps and works for clients in the USA, UK, France and the Middle East.
